Botswana won 2 gold medals at the 2008 African Track and Field Championships in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). The champions were Kabelo Kgosiemang (one of the best high jumpers in the world) and Amantle Montsho (sportswoman / 400m).

Liberia -the second black republic in the world- is the birthplace of George Weah, one of the greatest football players in the 20th century. George was the best football player of the world-1995. Ironically, Liberia has never qualified for the FIFA World Cup and Olympic Games.

The Kingdom of Swaziland sent 8 sports persons to the 1984 Summer Olympics in the Los Angeles (USA). They competed in four sports (athletics, boxing, swimming, weightlifting).

Abdi Bile (Somalia) won the gold medal in the 1500m at the IAAF World Track and Field Championship in 1987. Bile is one of the symbols of Africa.

Fatmata Fofanah won the gold medal in the 100m hurdles at the 2008 African Championships. Currently, she is the best female athlete in Guinea.

Diedonne Kwizera was the best Burundian athlete in the 1980s and early 1990s. Unfortunately, he was unable to compete in the Olympics because Burundi was not a member of the International Olympic Committee ( IOC ). He studied at the University of Nebraska (United States).

Namibia sent 6 athletes to the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona (Spain). They were Lucktez Swartbooi, Frankie Fredericks (track & field ), Harry Simon (boxing), Joel Lindemeier (aquatics), Frank Kayele Tuihaleni (athletic), Anja Dahl (swimming). Fredericks won two silver medals (100m, 200m).

Kaltouma Nadjima is the best sportspeople of Chad. She was born on November 16, 1976 in Bol ( Chad ).

When I saw this title, I was afraid and Im still afraid regarding my opinion about the subject. The subject is complex and difficult so I cannot resolve it overnight. I am an African. I do things the African way. I cannot write about African American music like a Western scholar. In my culture we live the past and the future in the present. When I listen to some African American music I can feel the past, the present and the future all at the same time. Now, the best way for me to handle this subject is to work by questions and answers.

[Question] Yaya! Who do you think you are?

Yaya Diallo - I don't think! I am Farafin, which means I am a dark skin man. The word Africa is the Arabic name for our continent. In Bambara we call the so-called "Africa" Farafina. Farafina means the land of dark skin people. I am from Farafina and I am proud of it. I don't want to be somebody else. People in general say African American. I would say American Farafin, which means dark skin human being who lives in America.

[Question] What is your African background?

Yaya Diallo - I come from far away. I was born in 1946 in Fienso (French Sudan), now Mali. My parents were nomadic. When I was very young I used to travel a lot. I grew up in the bush far from any western civilization. The music that I heard was very traditional and played live. I did not have a radio or TV. I had the opportunity to listen to the music of the different ethnic groups from the Ivory Coast, Burkina and Ghana. In some villages I heard Muslim songs coming from the mosques. By night, I would enjoy the frog symphonic orchestras. From 1946 to 1960 I was living in complete nature. My musical training is a long story but you can learn more from my book The Healing Drum.

[Question] What are your feelings about the civilized world?

Yaya Diallo - In the city I had strange feelings. I saw people listen to music through what I thought was two kinds of boxes. The first was a radio. You could change the singer with the tuning button, I thought. The second needed records. It read 78, 45 and 33 1/2. You had to adjust everything with something but I did not have a clue as to what. Even still, the only music that I heard was the Beatles, Rolling Stones and Johnny Holliday.

[Question] What do you think about the word African American?

Yaya Diallo - Dark skin people living in America are not different from people I met in Africa (Farafina). To me they are just different ethnic groups like the Yoruba, the Bantou, the Zoulou or the Touareg. Africa is not one culture. We have thousands and thousands of languages and different music. My wife is an African American from Louisville, KY. Her mother is from Dark Corner, MS and her father from Jackson, TN. Like my wife and family there was one African American man, James Brown, who saved my life with his music.

[Question] How can an African American man save the life of a traditional African?

Yaya Diallo - In 1967 I left my country to go to Montreal, Canada. On my way, in Paris, I saw a big picture of James Brown in the Olympia Theater. In my mind I thought, "Oh! A black man in Olympia in Paris, France." In Montreal I was looking for a place to dance or listen to the music that I loved. One day I found a radio station that played black music. I heard James Brown and felt at home.

[Question] What do you think about African American music?

Yaya Diallo - I always say that I don't think, I feel. When we talk about African American music we talk about Spirituals, Blues, Funk, Jazz, Gospel, Rap, dance music, etc. I want to talk on each one by one.

When people in Canada were dancing the twist, jerk and go-go, in my country a French man named Johnny Holliday was playing bad versions of Wilson Pickett and Ray Charles music in French. In America I found out this French man was a robber. He stole the music, sang it in French and looked like a genius for us Africans.

[Question] What did you feel when you started to dance?

Yaya Diallo - I used to go out to dance to Wilson Pickett, James Brown, and Sly and the Family Stones music. For me they were Africans. They had good beats, good feelings and most important, African Soul. I did not feel that from Chinese or European music. In the 70s I discovered the Funk music, The O'Jays, Parliament, Ohio Players, Kool and the Gang and JR Walker and the All Stars. I felt I was at home when I knew the Motown Family (Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross and the Supremes, the Temptations and Stevie Wonder). I could survive because I had those kinds of musicians.

[Question] In terms of music, what is the link between African and African Americans?

Yaya Diallo - African Americans are Africans from the village and sadly they just don't know it! When you listen to the music you can find out. Kool and The Gang played Funky Stuff. When you listen to the drum part you will get the Dounouba part of the dance Sounou. Sounou was played in the 15th century and today is the dance young people love. In Africa we learn the past in the present and teach it to the next generation. The African Americans sometimes do not know how African they are.

[Question] Why can you say that they are African?

Yaya Diallo - The first time I heard the Four Tops I thought I was listening to the Bambara Farmers in the evening after a hard working day. The Temptations reminded me of the men Fire dancers and singers. I can listen to Temptations but I am afraid to see them. I am not initiated to the Fire dance and the music brings out memories about the secret ceremonies that happened afar in the village. Aretha Franklin is for me a great Djeli-mousso coming from the Empire of Mali in the 13th century. When I listen to African American music I don't worry about the meaning, only what I feel.

[Question] What do you think about Jazz?

Yaya Diallo - Really, to tell the truth, I don't feel jazz. Many people coming from Africa feel the same way. I learned about jazz in 1980 when I recorded my first album, Nangape, on Onzou Records. That opened the door for me with jazz. Jazz magazines like Cadence and Down Beat wrote articles on me like I was a "jazz man." I was invited to do workshops at the Creative Music Studio in Woodstock, NY. I met jazz big names like Art Blakey. He said, "Yaya is the only African that I can jazz, that I can play with and be comfortable." I completed a trio with Don Cherry and Ed Blackwell in the Symphony Space in New York.

[Question] What about Gospel?

Yaya Diallo - To me gospel means religion or church but my father-in-law changed my mind. When going to church with him I saw a big band and a big choir. People were singing and I forgot that I was in church. I was surprised; I saw ladies in a trance like in my village but they called it shouting. This reminded me of the Mania Secret Society where only woman go into a trance when praising god (See The Healing Drum).

[Question] What is rap?

Yaya Diallo - I love rap! I use to lie about buying rap and say that it was for my children. Rap is the old tradition of the Fulani people in Mali. It tells life stories through poetry that is recited quickly. Nomadic people have to explain their daily journey through this same quick form, but without the foul language. Today, the young people think that they have reinvented the wheel.

[Question] Yaya, what is wrong with African American music today?

Yaya Diallo - Today everything is easy. Instead of buying a drum set you buy a drum machine. Computers do everything. You can get almost every sound by pressing a button. This is the type of world that we live in today. The young Africans love it like we used to love James Brown. Time is the only thing that has changed!

[Question] How did African American music change American Society?

Yaya Diallo - We changed everything! We changed the style of dance; we created new sounds, new styles, and new way to dress ... EVERYTHING! Country music is the white version of the Blues. Rock-n-roll comes from our music. People forget that Jimmie Hendricks was a Blues player that just changed his sound and look. Without James Brown, Sly and Family Stone and the Motown Family there would be no Madonna, no Celiene Dion, no techno, and no disco. African Americans brought this to the world. It is sad because people do not recognize it. We changed the world and it will never be the same again.

[Question] How do people know you in America?

Yaya Diallo - I am the author of two books, The Healing Drum and At the Threshold of the African Soul. I have four CDs, Nanagape, The Healing Drum, Dombaa Folee, and Dounoukan. I thank Onzou Records, the first company that trusted me to make my first album in 1980. That was not easy!

Whether you are looking for information on how to start up a FM radio station that operates on a low power FM basis, operates on a full power frequency or alternatively streams on the internet, it is essential to first establish what the options available to you are. If you want to start up a full power FM radio station, then it is essential to get expert guidance at the earliest stage. This will ensure you get the information you need to make an informed decision.

If these options don't appeal or are not available in your area, you have one other method for how to start up a FM radio station. You are able to establish a station that streams on the internet. It will be available to a worldwide audience and can stream in your choice of format. Common formats include Winamp and Windows Media Player, although generally we recommend the latter as most people won't need to download any additional software to listen to your station. This type of radio station can use a great deal of bandwidth, so it is important to have a fast speed internet connection with a high data cap limit.

When it comes to choosing the type of station you will set up, one of the most common constraints is budget. That said, it has been proven that a station can start out on a low power FM basis and successfully make the transition to operating a full power licensed commercial FM radio station. Some of the points to consider when looking how to start up a FM radio station include:

A Talent is the natural ability to do a thing. Whether it be Write, Sing, Sports or Invent or Create. A Talent can not be taught or learned it is a Natural thing inside of a person. You can add to or build up a Talent to make it better useful and you can also lose a Talent by letting it sit dormant for a period of time. For example, if a singer doesn't sing for awhile, they lose that ability to hit the high or low notes. If a sports player is injured and has to be out for a season or two, they must reestablish him or her self. To gain full potential from a Talent, one must practice it everyday.

Example:

When I was 3 years old, I had a two year old brother and a 4 year old brother. My dad had bought a guitar and began to learn how to play it. Dad began to teach us to sing Gospel Music. But it just came Natural to us. We could hear a song just one time and we could sing it all the way through. Less than a year after we started singing we were getting invited to come visit and sing at other churches. Soon after that we were singing at the radio station. People loved to hear us sing Southern Gospel Music. As time went on, we added more places to go to and sing. More family members, and even sang at 2 different TV Stations a few times. We even sang for the City of Kings Mountain and was picked up to go to the event and brought home in a police car. That was exciting. My family had the Talent to sing and make music. We have sang in almost every church in North and South Carolina.

A Talent is born within a person. Not everyone has a Talent. Can you run faster than anyone in the neighborhood? Can you jump higher than anyone? Can you just pick up any type instrument and fool around with it a few minutes and then play a song? Can you just fix things? Then you have a Talent.

A Talent can save you money. A Talent can make you money. A Talent can be hard work. A talent can be fun. A talent can do amazing things. If and when you find out what type Talent you have and build on it and grow it. It can and most times is a life changing experience.

Sometime during the 1930's electric guitars were introduced onto the music scene, which began a revolution in sound and technology that continues to this day. After Rock and Roll was born in the 1950's, it didn't take very long for electric guitars to grow in popularity and become one of the most coveted instruments of all time. Things really began to take off when the Beatles turned the world on its ear in 1964 by "invading America". Soon to follow were groups like the Rolling Stones, Cream, and the The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Music was forever changed and today electric guitars dominate the scene.

Originally these guitars were made with only a single pick-up. Now they usually come with two or three, thus creating a more versatile instrument. One is placed near the bridge, the other toward the base of the neck, and a middle, or third, is often added between the other two. Having these additional pickups provides the guitarist with more options for producing various dimensions of tonal quality. They can be used independently or in combination with each other and adjusted to achieve just the right volume or effect for either lead or rhythm guitar playing. Pickups are strategically set on electric guitars in order to "pickup" and produce the best sound. There are generally two basic types of electric guitar: hollow-bodied and solid-bodied. Hollow-bodied guitars are often used by Jazz enthusiasts. Rock guitarists tend to prefer the solid-bodied guitars overall.

If you are in the market for an electric guitar there are a few things you should keep in mind. First of all, take into consideration the kind of music you want to play. Are you looking for a smooth, mellow sound, or do you prefer more of a raunchy sound with an edge? If the former is true, then you'll gravitate toward the hollow-bodied guitars; if the later, then the solid-bodied is your best bet. Now, you could compromise and go for a "semi-solid" electric guitar, which combines the characteristics of both. These have a solid center block which creates the sustain of a solid body along with the "f" hole design which allows for the acoustic quality too.

One other thing to keep in mind. When you purchase an electric guitar you will also need to have other equipment, most importantly, an amplifier and a chord! If you're on a tight budget you might consider buying a package deal. These usually include the guitar, a small amp and a chord. Some also include picks, strap and a case. If you have money to blow, then do some research on amps and effects ahead of time so that you can be sure to have the equipment that will produce the sound you're after. You can also ask the store management for permission to test their different amps and effects while your in the store looking around. If you don't know how to play the guitar yet, ask if they have someone who could play a demonstration for you.

My final advise, before you buy your electric guitar, is to take your time and shop around. Ask a lot of questions. When you listen to music, take mental notes of the sounds you like and share your thoughts, ideas and questions with other guitar players. Then, go for it!

Florida has long been known for a party destination mostly due to the fact that
Spring Breakers have come to the Keys, Panama City, Fort Lauderdale, and Daytona
for years. However, Florida has a great nightlife any place any time of the year, no

Jacksonville

Kick off the night in Jacksonville, home to the University of North Florida and a great
twenty to thirty-something crowd. The party scene is found over the Intracoastal
Waterway at the Jacksonville Beaches. Start the night right at Ragtime Taproom and
Brewery, a locals favorite known for great microbrews and live music. Voted Best
Brew Pub year after year, the large bar starts filling up with the after-work crowd
and does not empty until closing time. Head to the boardwalk to find The Atlantic,
known for tasty appetizers and a great happy hour. Nightly music will range from
jazz to hard rock and techno and begins around 9:30. If the typical beach bar is
what you are in the mood for, look no further than Bukkets. Play pool, grab a drink,
or watch people on the boardwalk in this high-energy drinking hole. Freebird Live
was built in commemoration of Jacksonville native Ronnie VanZant of Lynyrd
Skynyrd. This is where to go if you are looking to hear great live music. Past
performers include Charlie Daniels, Willie Nelson, and Blues Traveler. Jacksonville
has it all: a great nightlife, gorgeous beaches, and locals that love to have a good
time.

Panama City Beach

Heading west will take you to Panama City Beach, home to one of the largest Spring
Break gatherings in the state. Front Beach Road is home to two PCB staples,
Harpoon Harrys and Sharkys Beach Club. Harpoon Harrys has tasty late night
snacks, great drinks, and local live music. This is the ideal place for anyone wanting
to avoid the crowds at larger clubs. Sharkys is a Panama City Beach institution,
having been home to the Tiki Hut for almost 20 years. Hear live bands, drink mixed
drinks, and enjoy fresh seafood where the energy is always high. The Boatyard
attracts tourists and locals alike with a laid back atmosphere, delicious late-night
treats, and live music. The dance floor is always full and the party goes on all night.
Club La Vela is the nations largest nightclub with ten theme rooms, each with its
own style of music and atmosphere. Get to the club early and stay late at one of the
trendiest nightclubs in the world. Panama City Beach continues its reputation for
having one of the best late night scenes in Florida.

Orlando

Central Florida brings Orlando as its top nightlife scene. With quite a few colleges
and universities in the area, theme parks with adult hours, and locals who like to
have fun, there are plenty of options when it comes to local nightlife. Pleasure
Island, part of Walt Disney World, turns into fun for the adults after dark.
Purchasing a pass gets you into the clubs and attractions like BET SoundStage Club,
8TRAX, Mannequins Dance Club, Motions, and the Rock 'n' Roll Beach Club.
Universal Studios answers back with its own adult nightlife scene found at CityWalk.
Although there is no entrance fee, it is suggested to purchase the Party Pass that
gets you free cover and priority entrance to BB Kings Blues Club, Howl at the Moon,
Jillians Hi-Life Lanes, Rumba Room and the Saddle Ranch Chop House, as well as,
plenty of other freebies. The nightlife in Orlando does not end at the theme parks.
Head to downtown Orlando to experience what the locals do after dark. Tabu Night
Club is a more sophisticated alternative to Orlando nightlife with a dress code. The
Art Deco design, friendly staff, fabulous drinks and appetizers, and celeb DJs make
this the place to go when looking for a more matrue atmosphere. Roxy is the heart
of the Orlando nightlife scene and is the place to go if you want to see and be seen.
This huge bi-level club has multiple rooms to cater to whatever mood and price
level you are interested in. Orlando, known for childrens theme parks and
dreamlands, becomes an adults playground at sunset.

Fort Lauderdale

Heading south brings you to Fort Lauderdale, home of the original Spring Break
party scene. Start your vacation at the Elbo Room, an iconic beachside bar surviving
from the Where The Boys Are era. Live music and ambiance make this a must-
visit. The Art Bar is an up and coming Fort Lauderdale hot spot with great drinks
and music. The Martini Bar, located downtown, is the new rage with fun takes on
the classic martini. Crowds love the fun staff and atmosphere. The best dueling
piano bar around, Howl at the Moon, is full of great eats, entertainment, and is one
of the most fun nights out around. If hip-hop is your forte, visit G.O.A.T. Open

Miami

Last, although certainly no least, we come to Miami, home to South Beach and one
of the hottest nightlife scenes in the world. The rich and famous, as well as, your
everyday Miami vacationer can be found in the clubs, bars, and lounges in this
wildly fun city. Miamis top DJs perform at Club Space, located downtown. A huge
dance floor, open-air patio, and a dazzling light show are sure to keep you
entertained from sundown to sun-up. Heading to South Beach will bring you to
some of the most well known clubs in the country. The Marlin Bar is a place to
expect to see celebrities and enjoy at laid-back atmosphere at the same time.
There are plenty of couches and chairs, ample of space, and live jazz and world beat
music to enjoy. Jazid is a popular bar, known for a great atmosphere, live jazz, and
a sultry feel. If looking for something other than live music, head up to the loft for
music spun by popular DJs. For those looking to impress, get dressed to kill and
head to Tantra, home to one of the more exotic atmospheres in South Beach. This
Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and bar has a real grass floor, waterfalls, hookah
pipes, and plush couches. Great martinis and one of the best menus on the Beach
are accompanied by a cigar bar and fabulous company.

Customer Review: A must have for any latin music fans
This video is an absolute must have for anyone who considers him or herself a music fan. My only complaint is: WHERE IS THE DVD VERSION!

This book mainly covers three presidents of the United States in the 20th Century; starting with Roosevelt and ending with Wilson. What has happened during the first two decades of the century is narrated and presidents policies and international conflicts are discussed. There are some elements which are common among US presidents that we will go through it later.

Theodore Roosevelt was the most important and most acceptable president of the century. Roosevelt was from an aristocratic family and loved killing especially Indians. His justification was to remove inferior race and people, and he extremely believed that use of force by civilized people will improve human character; the idea that seems emerging again in US policies by George Bush. He meant war with less industrialized nations mainly to maintain order in different region even if they were far from the US. He was growing in the age of post- 1875 depression. He was very concerned about reactionaries abroad and was looking for order in Asian and Latin America. As one may understand, he was a racist and believed in the whites mission to civilize and rule over other people. To maintain order, he used to accept all option even war. We can say that he also practiced the savage wars of order. He was the president who declared and determined US foreign policy for the century that was US wants no more land, now, US seeks market abroad. His reputation is for his creative idea of dollar diplomacy. The point that is very interesting is that to justify US economic desire for dominance, he used to think and say that US goods and values make people of the world happy.

Roosevelt came to power when presidential power has increased over the congress abilities. He strongly insisted that only president can conduct foreign policy; thus this change in foreign policy and presidential power was fit for Roosevelt. In sending troops to Santo Domingo, TR easily ignored congress. This theme and notion is increasing again in the US foreign policy when President Bush thinks that he can send more troops to Iraq even if Congress do not cooperate US administration. Beyond the order that can define US foreign policy in this century, opportunity is another theme that can not be forgotten, especially economic opportunity, US was searching for places to invest and trade. Very much like todays US president TR did not hesitate to use military force to achieve the goals and guarantee opportunity. Lafeber thinks that we can name 20th century the imperial presidency that I think even 21st century started with this imperialism but it will not continue as Bush has made so many mistakes that US political system will not bear anymore.

He did a great deal to the United States by constructing the Panama Canal. His main obstacle to do so was to break the treaty in which Britain had the chance of partnership in canal projects. Due to some conflicts in Africa and elsewhere, US-British relation enhanced greatly; US sided with British against Boers and British sided with US against Canada on Alaska. To begin the construction he was willing to have Panamanians revolted in 1903 against Colombia; a fight that US made greatly use of it with securing Panamanians independence.

Monroe Doctrine was another concern of him. There were two threats for Monroe Doctrine; first, Germany and its militarily and second; Revolutions in Caribbean. There was always a threat by Europeans to Roosevelt policies. To stop threats of revolution in Caribbean, he went to Central America. Policing was the term used by TR to keep order and to civilize people. It is necessary to add that this policing has repeated in the US foreign policy several times. TR gradually fell behind the Monroe Doctrine on Latin America for five reasons; Monroe doctrine supported Latin America revolutions, Monroe believed in nonintervention in Latin America, Monroe sees US economic traditional and at home, Monroe Doctrine sees no use of military power esp. in Latin America and Monroe urged abstention.

Among the policies TR perused, Asia had a significant status. To reach the peak of world power, US should address cheapest labor and greatest market of China. So US should build transportation to carry its goods to Asia. In foreign policy, TR supported Japan and suppressed Russia trying to control Korea and colonize Manchuria. In 1905 fight erupted between Japan and Russia; America tried to mediate the relation and helped them sign a peace treaty in September 1905. As a result of the treaty both Japan and Russia promised to respect Chinas territorial integrity. At the same year, some Chinese boycott American goods as a result of American immigration laws; lots of uproars and economic challenges happened. Japan was the next US challenge after China; Japan closed off Korea to US interests and began to move to Manchuria itself. TR in order to manifest US power to especially Japan sent a fleet around the world. Finally, Roosevelt won the Nobel Peace Prize for ending Russo-Japanese war.

William Howard Taft came to presidency from 19019 to 1913. He was not an absolute follower of Roosevelt; thus a catastrophe happened in China and US interests. Lack of energy and personal character of being cool were the real causes of Tafts failure. He favored traditional policies in foreign policy; created Department of Labor, antitrust movements against big corporations and created income tax. Taft clung to open door in Asia, order in Latin America and dollar diplomacy claiming that enough money secures. He used to reject TRs military forces using the growing capital resources in Asia and Latin America. Dollar diplomacy creates orderly societies by developing the unindustrialized nations and make profit of American investments. Tafts successor, Woodrow Wilson, pulled out America out of consortium- Taft urged- in 1913.

During 1906, a debate on US need to go and find a market of Latin America emerged. It deals with an idea that Americas North and South are serving each other; south provides raw materials and north has the manufacturers. Fear that Cubans were acquiring revolutionary habits was assumed to be a point of concern for US administration. Dollar diplomacy failed in the north as well as the Far East. Generally we can say that US tries to apply its power outward in Asia and Canada with a focus to have open door policy in Africa. US arbitration movement could not prevent the outrage of stop WWI or prevent great powers like US from using force to put down revolutions. Most US presidents in early 20th century- McKinley, Roosevelt, Taft and Wilson- desired order in Latin America, Africa and Asia and even Europe; revolutions began to spread around the world. US was going to replace Great Britain as the super power in the 20th century.

Wilson coming to power faced blasts of revolutions in different places of the world. His major policies include internationalism and moralism dedicated to democracy what is practiced and stated by US for implementing any policies in Middle East. Wilson was trained as a lawyer, turned to academic career and was the president of Princeton University. He was a stern Calvinist and belonged to Progressives. Wilson believed in the role government should play in business. Presidential power had increased after 1898 war; he implied some reforms in congress in 1913-16. He liked to decide before congress paying little attention to congress and public opinion. Democracy is an issue Wilson deals with enormously, he believes that people can not be given democracy, he doubt Filipinos were fit for self-government; American goods and ideas prepare them for democracy. This idea is not rare in the American mindset; Americans assume themselves as the source of democracy for other nations. An agreement in Wilson administration was made to make partnership with Britain and Germany to drive back Russia.

WWI ruined all Wilsons dreams about America. US should control Japan in order to have both open door and freedom of action in China; not only by war but through financial agreements and cooperation. Like other US president especially George Bush, Wilson to prevent revolutions and achieve economic expansion used military interventions. In 1910- 1911, some riots in Mexico to overthrow Diaz- a dictator- with the help of Mederno happened. US intervened and planned a democratic election in order to prevent other revolutions in Latin America. Huerta in Mexico holds election with the help of British and won it and certainly it did not please Wilson. Overthrowing Huerta government and cutting foreign interests grow as the important aim of Wilson. Finally, Firing broke and Huerta removed and Carranza assumed the power. Interestingly, Wilson tried to remove Carranza as well. Nothing was gained by Wilson as he finally after harsh struggles was forced to come to terms with Carranza and tried to stabilize and democratize Mexican revolutions

WWI was a turning point in the history of the United State. US planned to pay little attention to Balkan events and there was a consensus that US should be neutral in this fight. US stayed officially neutral but Wilson advisors were supporting British in reality. Several attacks were made by Germans against US forces in the region but US did it best not to interfere and enter the war. US agreed on giving credits to Europe and gave it first to the Allies. The only thing US could do was to play the role of a mediator so that it can keep the balance of power in Europe. War discourse was spreading.

Wilson endeavored to conduct a very moderate foreign policy; to balance his policies, Wilson protested against British for interception of US mails. Meanwhile, Europeans fearing the US economic growth after WWI signed a treaty in which they agreed upon higher tariffs and controlling markets to fight US competition. Wilson being president for the second term attempted to end the war but it failed. Wilson felt that US is about to enter war; he went to congress to talk about postwar objectives and peace and announce US entrance in the conflict. War resolution was proved in congress on April 6, 1917. Finally US entered WWI.

This was the story of the United States in the beginning of its most important century. What is common among these three presidents and US administration as a whole is a desire to be the savior and superman for the world while benefiting its own political and economic interests. All believe in taking democracy to unindustrialized nations whether by the means of war as there is a belief that these inferior nations lack the capacity of gaining democracy. Policing is another common heritage of US foreign policy. US seeks economic power in the 20th century but now what is most important to Americans beyond the economic issues is the political and cultural hegemony which is sometimes interpreted as imperialism and now the victims are Middle Eastern nations and Muslims.
